stained glass masquerade

Is there anyone that fails
Is there anyone that falls
Am I the only one in church today feelin’ so small

Cause when I take a look around
Everybody seems so strong
I know they’ll soon discover
That I don’t belong

So I tuck it all away, like everything’s okay
If I make them all believe it, maybe I’ll believe it too
So with a painted grin, I play the part again
So everyone will see me the way that I see them

Are we happy plastic people
Under shiny plastic steeples
With walls around our weakness
And smiles to hide our pain
But if the invitation’s open
To every heart that has been broken
Maybe then we close the curtain
On our stained glass masquerade

Is there anyone who’s been there
Are there any hands to raise
Am I the only one who’s traded
In the altar for a stage

The performance is convincing
And we know every line by heart
Only when no one is watching
Can we really fall apart

But would it set me free
If I dared to let you see
The truth behind the person
That you imagine me to be

Would your arms be open
Or would you walk away
Would the love of Jesus
Be enough to make you stay

Are we happy plastic people
Under shiny plastic steeples
With walls around our weakness
And smiles to hide our pain
But if the invitation’s open
To every heart that has been broken
Maybe then we close the curtain
On our stained glass masquerade

Well if the invitation’s open
To every heart that has been broken
Maybe then we close the curtain
On our stained glass masquerade

Is there anyone that fails
Is there anyone that falls
Am I the only one in church today feelin’ so small

Well, update on my life. I'm planning on coming back to the States in July. I have fallen in love with a beautiful young woman and I hope to get married next year. I'll be living in Chicago and working for American Airlines which is really sweet cuz I should get a good discount on airplane tickets. ha ha just kidding. Gosh, i hope you didn't think that was real. But you know, it's been so long since I've written on here that I thought maybe one or two of you would fall for it. I'm sorry for getting your hopes up.

In case you haven't noticed... xanga is deader than dead. The new place to be is Facebook. So, if you haven't switched over yet, you need to. I'm sorry for all you hardcore xanga people, but you need to move on. I didn't like facebook at first, but now that's the place to find me (and anyone else).

But if you really want to "talk" to me, write me an email. My email address is highway1617@juno.com I love getting emails. And I try to be pretty faithful in responding within a week or two.

For real, life  has been very up and down throughout the month of April. But I think maybe I've grown and matured in some ways too. That usually tends to happen through hard times.

I'm really looking forward to May starting. The beggining of a new month just brings so much.... I dunno, but it's much more opptimistic than being stuck in the middle of a month. Also the beggining of a new month means another month is behind us (duh) which means that it's one more month that I've lived here in Zambia and one month less until I get to go back to the States.

Bungee Jumping at Victoria Falls

When we were on vacation down at Vic Falls the other week Micah, Sarah and I went bungee jumping. It was pretty much the sweetest thing I've done thus far in my life. Now I want to go sky diving. So, here are a few pictures for your enjoyment.

First jump - bungee

Second jump - bungee again

Third jump - "swing"

Hi. It's been a while. I hardly update over here anymore. I do most of my stuff on Facebook. But I haven't even been there much. I've just been stayin'g away from the internet. But anyways...
This year has been going good. I haven't been depressed all year, so that's pretty cool to me.

I'm gettin' along fine with Micah and Sarah. Actually, we manage to have a lot of fun sometimes. It's gonna be weird when they leave.

Things are stayin' busy. Some of us have started volunteering at a baby orphanage just a couple minutes away. They have 15 babies under 6 months and another 15 babies under 3 years. They're all a lot of fun to play with.

In the next week or two we're gonna be moving into a new house we've found to rent. It's got a lot more space, so that's really nice.

I'm busy with Choir and helping dad with his Bible class and doing the shopping for the family and tryin' to finish physics and whatever else happens to pop into my day.

later!

some random stuff and read through your Bible this year

hey y'all! 2008 is going fine. It was really sunny all day long Monday. It didn't rain for like 25 hours (exceept for a tiny sprinkle for like 3 minutes)! I've come to like the rain a lot. They say the rain is really bad and extreme this year, but I like it. It doesn't rain like this back home.

Things are pretty interesting with Sarah here now. The little kids all love her (and so does Micah). We're getting along pretty well too. I don't get to hang out with Micah so much, which kinda stinks, but I guess it's okay. We still sit around and goof off sometimes.

Also, my computer has crashed. I'm just not having too much sucess with that evil piece of technology. First, it got ran over and I couldn't use it for almost a month. Now i got the screen fixed, and it crashed. The terrible thing is that just yesterday i was thinking how I need to back it up on an external hard drive, just in case it decides to act weird. But when I started it up, it said my account doesn't exist on my computer. So, I don't have anything right now. I'm hoping a brilliant computer guy (from America) can maybe fix it, or at least get me some of my stuff.

God is good to me. I've really been enjoying looking for lessons in my daily Bible reading. God has also given me a couple verses for this year (that i'll have to share in another note). Dad has decided that at our church this year will be the year that we focus on getting to know the Bible. So he's teaching a class on it right now (all the Saturdays in January) and he's also challenging people to read their Bibles the whole way through this year. It's actually pretty simple. You can get a chart from the Gidions web site and you just have to read like 4 or 5 chapters a day and you'll read through the whole Bible in a year. So, I just wanted to meantion that to whoever reads this and encourage you read through the Bible this year. It sounds like a big accomplishment, but doing a little bit at a time and checking of the boxes makes it pretty easy.

peace
